Stratolaunch Launch Systems Program Manager in Seattle, Washington
Stratolaunch, founded in 2011 by Paul G. Allen (Co-Founder of Microsoft), is developing an air-launch platform to make access to space more convenient, reliable, and routine. We believe that normalizing access to low Earth orbit (LEO) has the potential to redefine our lives by creating more opportunities for commercial, philanthropic and governmental organizations to collect rich and actionable data and drive advancements in science, research, and technology from space.
Stratolaunch is looking for a Launch Systems Program Manager to lead the cost, schedule, performance, and mission integration of launch systems programs. The program manager will manage launch system projects during the mission definition, development, and implementation program phases. Candidates must have strong backgrounds in project management and definition of launch system capabilities to meet customer mission requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for cost, schedule, and technical performance of launch systems programs.
Act as the company primary management focal point with the customer and lead launch systems mission program reviews.
Contribute to launch systems business plan development with schedule, budget, and personnel requirements.
Lead launch systems offering development to enable new business opportunities and support proposal preparation.
Contribute to obtaining launch systems permits and regulatory approvals.
Contribute to launch systems requirements development.
Contribute to the mission integration of launch systems with customer spacecraft through Interface Control Document (ICD) development.
Regular communication with the Director, Launch Systems Programs.
Strong collaboration with all other company departments.
Travel, as needed, to support the programs department.
Demonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity and fulfillment of commitments.

Knowledge, experience, skill, and/or ability required:
Experience with complex aerospace system project management.
Experience with launch system mission definition, development, and execution to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
Experience with launch systems operations
Experience with project budget and schedule management
Strong facilitation skills and ability to work with others in a collaborative environment
Ability to work on their own initiative and prioritize tasking to support company business goal achievement
Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities
Ability to manage development of launch systems offerings
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities (a written sample may be requested)
Ability to communicate effectively to company leadership and customers to gain support or resolve concerns
Launch vehicle development experience
Experience with government agencies
Experience with air-launch programs
Required computer skills:
MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from accredited institution and 10 years relevant experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
10 years of project management/leadership of complex aerospace mission integration
Special remarks regarding work environment
Travel estimated to be approximately 25%
