Stratolaunch, LLC Senior Propulsion Analyst in Mojave, California
Stratolaunch is developing an air-launch test platform to contribute to high-speed research and development. The goal of Stratolaunch is to utilize the capabilities of the Stratolaunch Carrier Aircraft and air-launch test vehicles to enable development of technologies that may not exist otherwise.
Stratolaunch strives to create technology development opportunities for commercial, philanthropic, and governmental organizations to collect rich and actionable data and drive advancements in science, research, and technology.
To achieve these great efforts, Stratolaunch needs a Sr. Propulsion Analyst to contribute to the thermal and fluid design aspects of our air-launch platform.
The position will primarily support the development and integration of fluid systems into space launch vehicles . Additionally, this position will contribute to the development our ground facilities and operations, and integration of the launch vehicles with the carrier aircraft.
As a Sr. Propulsion Analyst , you are responsible for assuring the thermal/fluid aspects of the design are represented in the launch vehicle development, facility development, carrier aircraft integration, and the safety and operation of the air-launch vehicles. This position includes evaluation of a broad range of technical data.
Candidates must have strong design and analysis background, with relevant experience in launch vehicles and related systems.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Contribute to the development and integration of fluid systems in launch vehicles
Contribute to resolving interfaces of thermal and fluid systems
Simulate the thermodynamic and fluid dynamic behavior of launch vehicle fluid systems
Develop engineering tools, as needed, to support design analysis and simulation
Develop requirements and verification statements for fluid systems
Evaluate development risks and risk mitigation plans
Demonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity and fulfillment of commitments
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
