Stratolaunch, LLC Property Control Manager in Mojave, California

Position Summary

Stratolaunch is a technology accelerator that engineers operationally realistic testing at Mach 5+. Our air-launched, Talon testbeds are reusable, cost-effective platforms that enable routine access to the hypersonic environment. We deliver flight data critical to validating system performance and achieving rapid technology deployment. A Property Control Manager is needed by Stratolaunch Systems in Mojave California to establish and maintain a Property Control System, provide management of Stratolaunch assets as well as manage the Shipping and Receiving Department. The Property Control Manager must be detail-oriented and accept primary responsibility for ensuring all property tracking systems comply with government contracting and ITAR requirements and are compatible with corporate accounting standards. The successful candidate will have the managerial skills to lead a team but will also need to be able to operate a forklift, move boxes and furniture, and perform light maintenance.

Stratolaunch relies on a complex network of contractors and subcontractors, and this individual must demonstrate emotional intelligence and an appreciation for clarity, tact, and professionalism. This position will be critical to the expansion of operations in Mojave, and this individual needs to have a customer-service mentality to support Stratolauch’s off-site staff and partners. The ideal candidate will have experience in safety and handling of hazardous materials, as well as a strong background in project management, with some college or professional certificates.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Property management – storage, tracking, security, accounting of all company assets

  • Manage personnel, including setting expectations and empowering direct reports

  • Shipping & Receiving – inspection, documentation

  • Ensures efficient warehouse operation by supervising the receipt of all items, enforcing policies and procedures regarding the proper storage and accountability of those items, and resolving damage or deviation from specification issues with carriers and/or manufacturers

  • Coordinating with various transportation providers for movement of packages, less than full truck load (LTL) and full truckloads.

  • Maintain and update property control procedures in accordance with GAAP and Stratolaunch Corporate property management policies for ITAR and government compliance

  • Project Management –scoping work, bidding, contracts, scheduling, resource planning

  • Measure and maintain an optimum level of Inventory accuracy

  • Write procedures, prepare and execute audit plan, and resolve related compliance issues

  • Prepare material distribution plan, such as kitting

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree and/or 5-8 years' of experience combined

  • Experience in property control, inventory management, logistics, or shipping & receiving

  • Solid familiarity with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Experience leading and managing others

  • Customer service mentality

  • Detailed oriented, attention to detail

  • Experience working with vendors and customers

  • Exceptional written and verbal communications

  • Professional, tactful, diplomatic, superior interpersonal skills

  • Ability to problem solve and adapt quickly to changing priorities

  • Ability to work independently, responsible, take the initiative

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with the implementation of a property tracking and management system

  • Experience using CostoPoint or MRP software

  • Experience in ITAR or government contracting procedures

  • Experience in purchasing or contract management

  • Experience in business management programs, such as Deltek, Microsoft Project, Google Earth

  • $95,000-$123,000

Mojave Air & Spaceport is located 95 miles north of Los Angeles. Beer fanatics will find some of the best West Coast IPAs at Bravery and Lucky Luke’s in Lancaster. Any food option you crave is covered, and we always recommend the authentic and fresh Mexican food that you won’t find anywhere else in the United States.
