Stratolaunch, LLC Program Business Manager in Mojave, California
Position Summary
Stratolaunch is a technology accelerator that engineers operationally realistic testing at Mach 5+. Our air-launched, Talon testbeds are reusable, cost-effective platforms that enable routine access to the hypersonic environment. We deliver flight data critical to validating system performance and achieving rapid technology deployment. Together with our customers, we drive innovations that are imperative to advancing national security.
Stratolaunch is developing hypersonic vehicles to support various Department of Defense and commercial applications. Stratolaunch seeks a Program Business Manager with 10-years of experience to help with financial and schedule management of the Talon program, specifically the program spending forecasts and actuals. Candidates must have a strong finance background with experience in program management and program control methodologies common to the aerospace industry.
As the Program Business Manager, you will work with the Talon Launch System Program Office and will contribute to management of the Stratolaunch projects through development and tracking of resource-loaded schedules. You are responsible for working with all aspects of the associated projects, including planning various aspects of the design, development, manufacture, and testing phases. You will also assist with the development and maintenance of program cost forecasts and help develop scenarios based on schedule updates. You will analyze spending, help forecast future headcount, and contribute to risk analysis to develop mitigations for variances. You will work with the Stratolaunch finance department and other program management within the Talon Launch System, and participate in periodic status reviews, as needed.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Assist with the development and maintenance of the resource-loaded schedules for the Talon Launch System
Contribute to budget management of the Talon Launch System
Perform forecasting of the program spend by working with other Program Business Managers, the Program Planners, and the Finance and Procurement team
Keep the team current regarding its upcoming activities and deadlines
Assist with updating financial forecasts for various scenarios
Contribute to the development of program management metrics
Work with the Procurement team to ensure subcontractors and suppliers are delivering products that meet technical requirements, on schedule, and within budget
Assist with the overall program leadership, planning and execution activities
Contribute material to the periodic program reviews
Serve as a program representative in internal and customer-facing meetings, as required
Coordinate and help resolve program financial challenges, as required
Work with Finance and company leadership to ensure planning and financial tracking processes and procedures meet US Government contracting requirements
Support the preparation of business proposals to the US Government and industry
Demonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity, and fulfillment of commitments

Required
Knowledge of, and experience with, one or more of these disciplines: program management, finance, accounting, operations management, subcontracts and procurement, personnel management, aircraft/launch vehicle development or aircraft/launch vehicle operations
Experience and understanding of various tools and techniques associated with cost/schedule management to include Earned Value Management tools and processes
Experience with program financial analysis, including variance analysis and developing forecasts
Experience with technical aerospace leadership, including working with subcontractors
Experience with program risk management tools and methodologies
Ability to develop and analyze data, and present findings to management
Strong analytical problem-solving skills and ability to implement sound critical thinking skills
Ability to work on their own initiative and prioritize tasking to fit within the business goals
Ability to obtain a security clearance
Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities
Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Preferred
Experience with program risk management processes
Experience with aircraft and/or launch vehicle integration
Experience with prototype manufacturing or low-rate production
Experience with government agencies
Experience with classified programs and working in a classified environment

- Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Science (BS) or higher in a Business Management/Business Administration and/or Engineering discipline from an accredited institution and 10-plus years of relevant experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience

Mojave Air & Spaceport is located 95 miles north of Los Angeles.
