Stratolaunch, LLC Engineering Technician I in Mojave, California
Position Summary
Stratolaunch is a technology accelerator that engineers operationally realistic testing at Mach 5+. Our air-launched, Talon testbeds are reusable, cost-effective platforms that enable routine access to the hypersonic environment. We deliver flight data critical to validating system performance and achieving rapid technology deployment. Together with our customers, we drive innovations that are imperative to advancing national security.
To achieve these great efforts, Stratolaunch needs an Engineering Technician I to participate in the development of hypersonic flight vehicles. You will contribute to the detailed design of high-speed vehicle primary and secondary structure. You will detail design components, CAD model components, create margin reports, support the manufacturing effort, create work instructions, and create engineering drawings. You are responsible for contributing to the vehicle’s structural technical performance, including meeting design and mission requirements, resolving technical challenges, and implementing technology upgrades that improve the competitive basis of the Stratolaunch architecture.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Detail design structural components and assemblies
Create and modify existing 3D CAD model parts and assemblies
Create and modify existing work instructions and drawings for parts and assemblies
Design secondary structure for mounting components in the airframe
Work with the shop to fabricate and assemble composite parts
Work with the shop to fabricate and assemble metallic parts
Disposition part and assembly nonconformances
Order materials and components to support manufacturing, as required
Regular and comprehensive communication to your manager
Contribute to the integration of complex aerospace systems
Travel, as needed, to support the company
Demonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity, and fulfillment of commitments
QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED
Experience with composite part fabrication and manufacturing methods
Experience with composite tooling methods
Experience with 3D CAD modeling of parts and assemblies
Experience creating work instructions
Experience with metallic part fabrication and manufacturing methods
Experience with aerospace fasteners and specs
Experience with drafting and GD&T
Ability to work on their own initiative and prioritize tasking to fit within the business goals
Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities
REQUIRED COMPUTER SKILLS
CATIA 3D CAD modeling experience
MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Configuration management systems
PREFERRED
Experience with bonded and wet tied composite structures
Security clearance
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from accredited institution OR up to 2 years of equivalent combination of education and experience

$64,000-$77,000

Mojave Air & Spaceport is located 95 miles north of Los Angeles.
