Stratolaunch, LLC Electrical Engineer II in Mojave, California
Stratolaunch is developing an air-launch platform to contribute to high speed research and development. The goal of Stratolaunch is to use the air-launch platform for enabling technologies that may not exist otherwise. Stratolaunch has the potential for creating technology development opportunities for commercial, philanthropic and governmental organizations to collect rich and actionable data and drive advancements in science, research, and technology.
To achieve these great efforts, Stratolaunch needs an Electrical Engineer to complete the development of the hypersonic vehicle electrical design. This position also includes the path to leading the development and implementation of other segments of the Stratolaunch architecture, which could include airborne support equipment, launch vehicle, and ground elements.
As an Electrical Engineer , you will be responsible for leading aspects of the hypersonic research vehicle. You are responsible for contributing to the design, development, meeting requirements, performing verification activities, and test execution for the hypersonic vehicle electrical system. You must be comfortable with component/system development and integration. This position will include evaluation of a broad range of technical data. Candidates must have an aerospace development background and relevant experience in aerospace systems integration.
This position is based in Mojave, CA. Candidates must have strong aircraft development and operational background, facilities experience, and relevant experience in aircraft systems integration.
Lead aspects of the hypersonic vehicle electrical system, including working with current subsystems and new development projects
Contribute to aspects of vehicle power system technology development including creating requirements, detail designing the subsystem, and testing of the subsystem to verify requirements have been met
Contribute to aspects of the integration of hypersonic vehicle with the carrier aircraft electrical system
Perform design and/or analysis to support component and subsystem development
Lead test procedure development and test execution
Develop engineering tools, as needed, to complete the tasking
Provide technical guidance for specific projects within the larger program with responsibility for technical performance of the project
Provide electrical engineering support to the propulsion test stand and custom ground support equipment, as required
Regular and comprehensive communication to the Hypersonic Avionics Lead
Contribute to the integration of complex aerospace systems
Travel, as needed, to support the department
Demonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity and fulfillment of commitments
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Knowledge of, and experience with, one or more of these disciplines: electrical engineering, avionics, experimental aircraft and/or launch vehicle integration
Experience with common aerospace hardware such as relays, D38999 connectors, terminal blocks, wire gauge sizing, and circuit breakers
Experience with Capital Logic and Capital Harness wiring design software or equivalent
Experience with electrical systems integration, power-on functional testing, and flight testing
Experience designing launch vehicle or aircraft electrical power systems
Experience with technical aerospace leadership, including working with sub-contractors
Experience with requirements development, with a focus on interface management
Experience with risk management
Facilitation skills and ability to communicate technical challenges and guidance to varied audiences to gain support or resolve concerns
Ability to work on your own initiative and prioritize tasking to fit within the business goals
Complex aerospace system development
Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities
Ability to obtain/maintain security clearance.
Aircraft and/or launch vehicle development experience
Experience with government agencies

Wiring diagram tools: Capital Logic & Capital Harness, or equivalent
CAD: CATIA, Solidworks, or equivalent

Configuration management systems
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from accredited institution plus 2 - 5 years of applicable experience
