Position Summary
Stratolaunch is a technology accelerator that engineers operationally realistic testing at Mach 5+. Our air-launched, Talon testbeds are reusable, cost-effective platforms that enable routine access to the hypersonic environment. We deliver flight data critical to validating system performance and achieving rapid technology deployment. Together with our customers, we drive innovations that are imperative to advancing national security
To achieve these efforts, Stratolaunch seeks a Director, Programs with at least 18-years of experience to lead a Stratolaunch hypersonics testbed development team through vehicle design, manufacturing, and test. You will manage the program cost, schedule, safety, and security performance of the hypersonic test vehicles. You must also develop and implement program management metrics for efficiently managing the program while providing rapid information on current program status. Position will provide program leadership for Stratolaunch. Candidates must have experience in project management; government contracts; and prototype vehicle design, manufacturing, and test.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the hypersonic testbed team through the development lifecycle
Responsible for cost, schedule, safety, and security of the hypersonic testbed program
Develop budget and schedules for managing the program
Make final decisions for any hypersonic program area that affects cost and/or schedule constraints
Work closely with our customer interface to ensure routine and appropriate communications and timely delivery of contract deliverables
Implement program management tools to facilitate program execution
Contribute to developing statements of work, establishing program review gates, setting milestones with applicable entry and exit criteria, and evaluating subcontractor capabilities
Work with the procurement team to ensure subcontractors are delivering products on deadline and within budget
Evaluate program risks and define and implement mitigation plans
Assist with the coordination and integration of payloads with hypersonic vehicle customers
Lead the creation of proposals for later phases on hypersonic testbed vehicle production
Assist in the process to construct or acquire additional facilities to support vehicle production
Contribute material for proposals to a variety of external customers
Contribute to the company business plan with forecasts of schedule, budget, and personnel
Regular and comprehensive communication to the VP, Programs & Operations
Travel, as needed, to support the company and program
Demonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity, and fulfillment of commitments
QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of, and experience with, one or more of these disciplines: aerospace program management, subcontracts and procurement, government contracts, personnel management, aircraft systems, aircraft operations, launch vehicle integration, ground systems
Experience with technical aerospace leadership, including working with subcontractors and government customers
Experience with prototype manufacturing or low-rate production
Experience with risk management tools and tracking techniques
Facilitation skills and ability to communicate technical challenges and guidance to varied audiences to gain support or resolve concerns
Strong analytical problem-solving skills and ability to implement sound critical thinking skills
Ability to work on their own initiative and prioritize tasking to fit within the business goals
Ability to obtain a security clearance at the TS level
Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities
Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Experience with government agencies (customers and regulatory)
Experience with air-launch platforms
Experience with hypersonic vehicle design, development, test, and operations
Experience with classified programs and working in a classified environment
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
EDUCATION
- Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Science (BS) or higher in a Business Management/Business Administration and/or Engineering discipline from an accredited institution and 18-plus years of relevant experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience

Travel estimated to be approximately <20%

$188,000 - $285,000
Relocation eligible to local area – Mojave, CA
9/80 schedule
