Stratolaunch, LLC Data and Telemetry Systems Lead in Mojave, California
Position Summary
Stratolaunch is a technology accelerator that engineers operationally realistic testing at Mach 5+. Our air-launched, Talon testbeds are reusable, cost-effective platforms that enable routine access to the hypersonic environment. We deliver flight data critical to validating system performance and achieving rapid technology deployment. Together with our customers, we drive innovations that are imperative to advancing national security.
Stratolaunch is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer, Data and Telemetry to complete the Talon Launch System integrated data system including Roc Carrier Aircraft, Talon Hypersonic Vehicle, and ground assets. This position will focus on design completion, integration, and testing of the Data system in multiple test ranges.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead overall data & telemetry system architecture, testing, & operation for local and extended range missions
Train and act on console as data systems/telemetry during missions
Determine data flow based on customer needs and system capability, advocate for upgraded systems when appropriate
Develop and maintain software tools as required
Develop and support telemetry, network, & data tests as required
Collaborate with network engineers, data engineers, telemetry technicians as required to accomplish goals.
Lead by doing: perform detail design, procure parts, execute design review process
Test projects as required, lead testing, evaluate data and hold closeout reviews
Prepare projects for flight and brief status at Flight Readiness Reviews and other similar events
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in Data, Telemetry, Network engineering in an operational or test environment
Experience with network engineering, TCP/IP, UDP
Experience with LabVIEW
Experience with RF devices such as Quasonix or similar
Experience with GMDR or Similar
Knowledge of IRIG 106 CH4, Ch 10
Proficiency C++, MS Office, & other relevant software tools as required
Familiarity with configuration management systems such as JIRA, GIT, etc.
Excellent written & verbal communication
US Citizen Status
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with ARINC429 Data Bus
Experience with MIL-STD-1553 Data Bus Architecture
Experience with IADS ( Interactive Authoring and Display Software )
Aircraft and/or launch vehicle development experience
Hands-on aircraft build, piloting, and flight test experience
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from accredited institution and 5-plus years of relevant experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Mojave Air & Spaceport is located 95 miles north of Los Angeles.
