Stratolaunch, LLC Control Room Systems Administrator in Mojave, California

Stratolaunch is developing an air-launch platform to contribute to high-speed research and development. The goal of Stratolaunch is to use the air-launch platform for enabling technologies that may not exist otherwise. Stratolaunch has the potential for creating technology development opportunities for commercial, philanthropic, and governmental organizations to collect rich and actionable data and drive advancements in science, research, and technology.

To achieve these great efforts, Stratolaunch needs a Control Room Systems Administrator to contribute to Mission Control readiness.

This position is responsible for preparing the Control Room for use during our scheduled test or mission events and maintaining current documentation and procedures. Additionally, this position is required to support the Engineering and IT teams during test events, post-test data analysis. and systems/infrastructure improvements.

The Control Room Systems Administrator will be a member of the IT team, and when not needed to support Mission Control events, will be working with the IT team to support other technology needs within Stratolaunch. This includes servers, systems, network devices, user computers, peripherals, and much more.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reliably prepare Control Room to support events as they are scheduled

  • Manage and react to Control Room changes

  • Support Control Room team during scheduled operations

  • Coordinate final scheduling and real time use of airspace or other range resources under direction from the Test Conductor

  • Coordinate normal airport resources as required by test plans or other test documentation / standard procedures

  • Coordinate and be ready to execute Emergency Response for day of mission operations in accordance with a mishap plan, airport regulations, range documentation, FAA documentation, etc.

  • Process test data products post flight from real-time formats to formats that can be used for analysis and reporting

  • Build tools to perform basic analysis from ground and flight test data in support of Responsible Engineers for a subsystem

  • Interact with the Engineering team to troubleshoot Control Room software suite

  • Interact with the IT team to troubleshoot servers, network devices, applications, cameras, websites, and other systems

  • Create good documentation and policies/procedures in line with Control Room needs

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Basic coding skills

  • Ability to learn Bitbucket/Git

  • General knowledge of test displays General understanding of IT servers and systems

  • Basic computer troubleshooting and support

  • General knowledge of test conduct

  • General pilot knowledge (private pilot preferred, other experience accepted)Good knowledge of proper airport radio communications

  • General knowledge of airport operations

  • General knowledge of emergency response

Preferred

  • Experience with IADS

  • Experience working in a Change Controlled environment

  • Experience with networking is a plus

  • Experience administering physical/virtual server environment

  • Experience managing Windows Server

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

BS or applicable experience in lieu of degree

  • This position is located in Mojave, CA

  • This position may require travel to offsite locations depending on aircraft dispatch location
