Stratolaunch, LLC Carrier Aircraft Technical Scheduler in Mojave, California
Stratolaunch is developing an air-launch platform to contribute to high speed research and development. The goal of Stratolaunch is to use the air-launch platform for enabling technologies that may not exist otherwise. Stratolaunch has the potential for creating technology development opportunities for commercial, philanthropic and governmental organizations to collect rich and actionable data and drive advancements in science, research, and technology.
To achieve these great efforts, Stratolaunch needs a Technical Scheduler to work closely with the Program Director to help manage the day to day activities of our Carrier Aircraft Program. This position will contribute to management of the development, test, and operation of our carrier aircraft. Additionally, this position needs to support hypersonic vehicle integration with the Engineering and Fabrication teams.
As the Carrier Aircraft Technical Scheduler , you will contribute to daily management of the Carrier Aircraft Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). You will work with the department leads and engineers to help maintain the IMS and provide regular updates. You will also evaluate the schedule inputs to determine accuracy and whether information has been omitted. Finally, you will perform schedule analysis to evaluate resource loading, conflicting use of resources, and propose solutions. You must also contribute to the development of program management metrics for efficiently managing the program while providing rapid information on current program status. Candidates must have strong development and operational background, facilities experience, and relevant experience in aircraft systems integration and test. This position is based in Mojave, CA.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Contribute to regular updates of the Carrier Aircraft Integrated Master Schedule
Evaluate technical planning inputs for accuracy and omissions
Perform schedule analysis to ensure resources are available and resolve conflicts
Contribute to the development of program management metrics for the Carrier Aircraft
Implement program management tools, as needed, to facilitate program execution
Contribute to developing statements of work, establishing program review gates, setting milestones with applicable entry and exit criteria, and evaluating sub-contractor capabilities
Work with the sub-contracting team to ensure sub-contractors are delivering products on deadline and within budget
Contribute material for proposals to a variety of internal and external customers
Contribute to the business plan with forecasts of schedule, budget, and personnel
Contribute to risk evaluations for Air Launch programs
Contribute to obtaining permits and regulatory approval for Air Launch projects
Evaluate risks and mitigation plans to determine adequacy and effectiveness
Regular and comprehensive communication to the Carrier Aircraft Program Director on a weekly and monthly basis
Contribute to the integration of complex aerospace systems
Travel, as needed, to support the company

Knowledge of, and experience with, one or more of these disciplines: large aerospace program management, sub-contracts and procurement, personnel management, aircraft systems, aircraft operations, launch vehicle integration, ground systems
Experience with technical aerospace leadership, including working with sub-contractors
Experience with risk management
Facilitation skills and ability to communicate technical challenges and guidance to varied audiences to gain support or resolve concerns
Ability to work on their own initiative and prioritize tasking to fit within the business goals
Complex aerospace system development experience
Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities
Aircraft and/or launch vehicle integration experience
Large transport category or military aircraft
Experience with government agencies
Experience with air-launch programs
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Required computer skills
MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Project management tools
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from accredited institution and 7-plus years of relevant experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
